Today was a slew of choices, and in a few cases - they will have a substantial compounding effect.
I managed to finally connect with a professional that was referred to me by another coach, and I made a few decisions involving my marketing/branding efforts here online. One of the biggest choices of the day – was to get exceptionally refocused on a few key things, and to bring in some outside help.
This referral / consultant will be helping me to advance on a number of fronts involving my online projects with a substantially reduced amount of ‘overhead grind’ on my part. As a professional, I am learning more about self awareness each day, and deferring to those around me that have substantially more to offer in spaces where I can use their help. By no means, is the self awareness journey over, although this is an area of consciousness that I have been deeply studying and acting to improve over the past few years. Today in some ways, was a bit of a breakthrough – as I have finally made a call on a couple things that will enable an outside professional to come in to help me on some stalled avenues of progress.
This is not the first time where I have engaged additional bench strength on my roster with my various projects. I have been doing this my entire career frankly – going all the way back to the early days of playing soccer where teamwork is so crucial. More recently, I have enjoyed the benefits of constructing a few teams at my various employers that have managed to stay socially intact for years after we did many incredibly cool things together as a unit. Now most recently, in these online endeavors – I have engaged in a piecemeal fashion with a couple mentors, coaches, and the occasional freelancer to help further some growth strategies along with a couple of point solutions.
Today – I believe the choices I’ve made – set the stage for some substantial evolution of this blog, of the reach I’m continuing to gain, and most importantly – I’ve definitely begun to free up a little bit more time to focus on the ever narrower zones of priority as the end of the year nears. Delegation and outsourcing done the right way – is a compounding factor that can greatly improve throughput / chances of success – this is not news for you.
Well, that is not enough.
What if you can enlist/hire someone that brings some substantially unique value to your mission that may never be able to develop in yourself. Getting expertise in a targeted manner all of a sudden can unlock other opportunities and avenues for yourself – even as the folks you brought in to help – massively jumpstart the tasks that were previously stalled out. This is what is starting up today.
Today – I chose to leverage a referral that has me pumped.
I chose to value my time tied to the unique gifts and priorities in my life at the moment.
I chose to value time from experts in a way that is unlocking opportunities that were months on the racetrack doing laps – with no real advancing mileage to speak of.
I was reminded today that we all have unique gifts, and that through a variety of techniques – centered in some healthy self awareness – these gifts serve as the basis for much of the meaning and possibly even happiness in our lives.
The electricity from the day has been flowing for many hours, and I am pumped to see where today’s decisions take a few of my projects that I have in a variety of dimensions of my life.
Tomorrow is sure to be even more electric.
