This Pre Workout Supplement Actually Works – Prescribed By My Nutritionist – PreTrain NRG

Over the years I’ve tested a slew of pre-workout supplements, and many of them no longer exist.  Many of the best ones have been taken off of the market, as they were unsafe due to the industry’s chronic lack of regulation and many ‘extras’ being added into the supplements.

Well, I’ve been using a new pre-workout supplement that my holistic nutritionist prescribed for me given some of the exhaustion and ‘brain fog’ I’ve been experiencing of after I lift.  In some of the tests we conducted, she felt like I could use some more amino acids, and a boost of ATP which is a precursor to any real energy in your cells.

So what is ATP?

ATP stands for a cellular form of energy called adenosine triphosphate (ATP) to power almost all their activities, such as muscle contraction, protein construction, transportation of substrates, communications with other cells, heat control mechanisms, and getting rid of damaged and unused structures.

Every cell has a small store of highly charged ATP located in the cytoplasm. ATP is made up of adenosine and three inorganic phosphate (Pi) groups bonded together in sequence. Each of the phosphate bonds stores the energy the cell can use. The bond between the second and third phosphate groups contains the most accessible energy.  Each bond of these inorganic phosphates is where the energy is released from.  As energy gets used, the phosphate bonds ‘snap off’ with the third phosphate group being the first to get jettisoned.  When this happens, the ATP in the cell becomes ADP, and it needs another 3rd phosphate bond to fire up the energy.

Where does this 3rd bond restoration come from?  The food we eat.

How does the 3rd bond get re-established?   There are two main energy systems that restore this bond – there are many (around a dozen) other energy systems at work in our bodies – and I’ll get into that in a separate post:

  • Anaerobic – There are two different strategies involved in creating the ATP/3rd phosphate bond without any oxygen.
  • Aerobic – This approach does require oxygen to create ATP/3rd phosphate bond.

Our bodies use a blend of both to speed the energy replenishment of the cell from ‘ADP mode’ to ‘ATP enabled’ and the cells will not the energy levels drop below roughly 60% energy levels without invoking the dual method of anaerobic and aerobic methods of ATP regeneration.  ( source )

Well, back to the actual supplement in question – this is clinical grade supplementation that has a unique mixture of creatine, L Theanine, ATP, and L Tyrosine.  For me, the mental clarity after 20 minutes of taking this is noticeable and stays with me the rest of the day even after I’m done lifting.  This is a fantastic side effect as I’m usually doing my heaviest lifts after I’m done with work between 5-7pm at night (on most days).  This enables another wave of big time output after I’m done at the gym, and this particular formula has been confirmed by my nutritionist to be ideal for me.  And this shit works.  It also tastes decent, as opposed to some of the other supplements I have had over the years…

In the past week, my lifts have started to move up again, and my in gym energy levels are sustained whereas most recently they’d dip after about 10 heavy sets.  Now I just steadily plow through, and leave the gym fresher than when I went in.  That is kind of the point of going to the gym right?  Feeling better after having accomplished some things, no?

I’ll throw another article or two out here in the coming weeks outlining some of the other supplements I’m currently taking.  This one has proven to be magnifying in a few different ways in the past week, and you can get it on Amazon from time to time.  I strong suggest you contact your doctor or holistic nutritionist before taking this.  The reviews on Amazon are fantastic, however – it is very much an individualized thing with these supplements.

This particular firm does clinical-grade food supplements, not so much ‘weight lifting’ supplements, so this is another bonus when considering this supplement.
